In Brightspace, there are different types of Assignments. Below you will find an explanation of the various types.
Types of Assignments
In Brightspace, instructors can require you to submit an assignment in four different ways:
- File submission: You need to upload your assignment as a file in the assignment (e.g., a Word or PDF file).
- Text submission: You enter text, an image, or a link to your work in a text box in the assignment. For example, if you need to create a webpage, you can paste the link here.
- On paper submission: You submit a hard copy of the assignment and do not need to upload it in Brightspace. Instructors can enter the grade in Grades.
- Observed in person: You perform a specific task during class or a workshop, for which the instructor enters a grade as if it were an assignment, even if you don’t need to upload anything in Assignments.
The instructor will clearly inform you in advance if you need to submit the assignment in Brightspace.
